What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are a non-invasive treatment for smoother, more youthful skin. As we age, our skin loses its natural elasticity and the smooth complexion we took for begins to fade. Unfortunately the way our skin ages is largely determined by our genetics, but the process is accelerated by smoking, poor diet and sun exposure.
By injecting tiny amounts of Dermal Filler under the skin or lips, gives you the opportunity to pause or reverse the aging process by restoring volume where you need it. What can I expect from treatment with Dermal Fillers?
Before treatment
At your pre-treatment consultation, Dr Parmar will help you to complete a medical history form and you will be asked to sign a consent form. He will also take the time to explain the procedure in full and you will have chance to ask any questions you may have concerning the treatment.

The procedure
During treatment a tiny amount of the Dermal Filler gel is injected under the skin or lips with a very fine needle to provide instant volume and smoothness. Treatment typically only takes between 15-30 minutes.

After treatment
For optimum results, a top-up treatment it is generally recommended approximately 6-12 months after your first appointment. Dr Parmar will help you plan the best time for your next treatment.

Results
Dermal fillers provide almost instant results. After your first treatment, your skin will appear smoother and more even toned and the appearance of lines and wrinkles will have reduced. You will notice that your skin feels and looks firmer, appears healthier and has a more vital and youthful glow.

Is there anyone who can’t use Dermal Fillers?
The treatment should not be used in or near areas of skin where there is currently, or has previously been skin disease or inflammation. Dermal Fillers are not advised for breast-feeding women. People with an impaired immune system or anyone undergoing chemotherapy or other therapies that suppress the function of the immune system are at greater risk of skin infection and should not be treated with Dermal Fillers.
